Heaven & Hell

The concept of Heaven and Hell is described in Hinduism. Heaven is ruled by semi-God deputed by Lord Vishnu, the Supreme God. Heaven is beautiful. It is full of fragrance. Flowers blossom in heaven. Good and loving beings and beautiful women with purity are all around. Good food is given. Prayers and songs of God with sweet music are sung. All beings live in divine bliss of love for God.

Hell:

Hell is ruled by the Lord of Death. He is called Yama.  The environment is very fearful. All sorts of fearsome people move around. Punishments/tortures in all unthinkable and undreamable are also given. According to their actions/work in this world they are punished and tortured in different degrees. One is made to lay on hot plates. No food or little food with bad smell or rotten food is given. After passing through all tortures, one is reborn again and again till he reaches perfection by the process of purification, self-realization, good works, maintenance of peace, harmony and engaging in the service of humanity and the creation of God.

There is a third Loka i.e.  A world other than heaven and hell; it is called Vishnu Lok (Supreme God named Vishnu-Narayan-Krishna). There is no pain and suffering. One is in unison with God’s love. Bliss, Bliss and Bliss are all around. Joy, Joy, Joy.

Heaven

We are the manifested children of God. We are Spirit. We are perfect. We are divine. Brahmasmi – I am Brahma (God). Shivoham – I am Shiva (God). We are playing our roles on the stage of the world. We have illusions. We have intellect. Our mind and intellect are driven by senses pleasures. Every person has a soul which is immortal. Soul is in the body which is mortal. Our life is governed by cosmic rule of birth and death. It is cosmic cycle. One is born again and again till he does not have perfection and divinity, which is enshrined in every human being. Soul is the fragment of His Cosmic Energy.  A human being goes to heaven when he has divine qualities. He conquers the kinetic energy of greed, pride, lust, anger, hatred, jealousy and ego by gigantic force of will and God’s grace. He has the forbearance, patience, renunciation, restrain and control of senses i.e. lust, anger, greed, killing, harming another being and God’s creation.

Way to get to heaven is to be a good human being by controlling the senses by mind and intellect; be righteous, not harming any person and Creation of God, work to the best of ability with selfless motive for the creation and generation of wealth for the welfare of humanity; engage in the welfare of all creatures. Sarvabhutahite Ratah; and remain truthful.

A person goes to hell, when he becomes the servant of bad habits i.e. alcohol, adultery etc. and becomes victim of kinetic energy i.e. greed, pride, lust, anger and ego, cheating, injustice, untruthfulness, destruction, jealousy, harming others; not protecting animates and inanimate; indulging in sensual desires; not performing his duties to the best of his ability; working for selfish motives, disrespect to women and lethargy. He is engaged in unjust activities, unnecessary killing of creatures and unjust war.

A person who loves God, not His gifts; he has presence of God in His consciousness. He loves God as a miser loves money, as an ardent man loves his sweetheart and as a drowning person loves breath. He yearns for God. He gives his love to God spontaneously without asking for His gift – pleasures, riches, glory, fame etc. This person goes to Vishnu Loka (world of Lord Vishnu-Supreme God). He lives in Love and Bliss of God with all comforts. He just enjoys God’s love. He does not take birth again. He reaches perfection and divinity. He is not subject to born again.

Because, death is certain for the one who is born, and birth is certain for the one who dies. Therefore, you should not lament over the inevitable.

(Bhagavad Gita -2.27)

Fix your mind on me, be devoted to Me, worship Me, and bow down to Me. Thus uniting yourself with Me and setting Me, as the supreme goal and soul refuge, you shall certainly realise (or come to) Me. (Bhagavad Gita – 9.34)
